Ali Jebril … a story of a hero who entered the hospital because of the loss of his team

He challenged all the obstacles to become a successful player in wheelchair basketball. Ali Mohammed Jebril, a 20-year-old player of Peace Sports Club for Persons with Disability. In 2013, Jebril began his sports path with Peace Sports Club and participated in many tournaments and won the best and youngest basketball player award in the Gaza Strip in 2014 and 2015. In 2016, he participated in a match in Ramallah against Bethlehem team and participated in West Asia Championship which was held in Jordan.

This year, he was unable to participate in the UAE championship because of the siege imposed by the Israeli occupation on the Gaza Strip since 2006. Jebril said that the Paralympic Committee did not support the players selected for the Championship. He hoped to end the siege and represent Palestine.
One of the difficult situations that he faced was when the Palestinian Red Crescent Society team won “Rachel” championship award this year against his team, which made him stayed in hospital for 3 hours after his collapse and excessive crying. On the other hand, the most beautiful situation for him was winning the best player award in two different years and choosing him to represent Palestine. Jebril thanked everyone who supported him in his sports path, especially his family and colleague, Rajab Al-Sindawi, the Chairman of Peace Sport Club, Mohammed Al-Arabi and the coaches, Ibrahim Skaik and Mohammed Ashour.
